I have a problem here. I have a link that looks like this:

support.faq.htm#What_is_Data_Warehouse_Facilitator

Which points to a certain section on a web page, support.faq.htm. Now in version 5.5 of internet explorer, I can copy this link and paste it in the browser window, and it works fine. I can setup a link in lotus notes, to link to it, and it works fine, with a new window or just reusing an old one.

The problem is the people that use 5.0 browsers. The link from lotus does not open the placeholder location, only the page itself. As if it did not take into account the fact that there is a bookpark on the end. There are no spaces in this bookmark, so that is not an issue.

WHy does it work in 5.5 but not 5.0? Is there a fix or something?

Thank you,

-Steve

Linking to a bookmark on a page from another page is buggy at best... don't get upset if it doesn't work. :( Not much you can do.

I have IE5 (Win) installed. I usually don't have any problems with anchors. Maybe IE doesn't like that it is so long? Just a thought.

That is a thought. . .about the length. But i feel it is a bug in IE 5.0, since it works well in IE 5.5

I will try to adjust the length and see if that helps.

Otherwise I am out of ideas.
