Hi guys,

i am still on learning stages on how to build a website and all that kind of stuffs. I am a newbie for short.

I have this problem with my hosting account with hostmonster.com. Does anyone from here familiar with this hosting site. I have an account that has unlimited domains in one single account. My problem is how to get the other domains in as add on. They sent me instructions but still don`t get what they are trying to tell me. I have a similar account with GoDaddy and have no problems but this site is a lot cheaper.

I don`t know if I can ask this in this forum but i`m just trying to find anyting anywhere I can ask for a resolutions to my head ache. I have been doing the whole day and still cannot figure it out.

Thanks for any input

To have another domain as an addon, you need to have it registered first. If you already have that domain registered, make sure to point it to the hostmonster's nameservers. [you do it in the registrar's account, somewhere there there will be an option to change nameservers].
Once you have the domain pointing to hostmonster, use Addon Domain option in your CPanel [the thing you use to control your hosting account on hostmonster]. You'll have to fill out a small form, and once it is done, your addon domain will be functional [well, maybe wait up to 48h for propagation after nameservers change].

Thanks Freedom Razor

i have the domain registered with hostmonster.com and it has already on the add on. My problem is trying to get it live in the internet, i mean uploading it using Filezilla. I have tried different things to put on the ftp. I would like to see something like what godaddy.com use where you can put "home/folder. Or something like mydomain.com/nameoffolder on the ftp.

Probably I have to contact them again.

Thanks Again,
JulieV

When you create addon domain in CPanel, it asks you for password. Whatever you typed in there, is your FTP password for that addon domain's FTP access. CPanel also automatically creates FTP account to access your new addon domain, you can see all its details in FTP accounts section.
And even if you can't find it, addon domain is only a subdirectory in your root, so if you FTP to your main account, you should be able to reach your addon domain from there, just going into its subdirectory.
