IIS suddenly can't work!

hi,
I'm using Win 2K pro with IIS 5 installed. I don't know why suddenly, my local site can't work. It work pretty well before.
When I click on the Internet Services Manager, an error message come out.

Error Connecting To PC Name
The system cannot find the path specified.
Do you wish to attempt to connect to it in future?

Please help!!! Urgent! I can't proceed my task.

I've noticed that IIS doesn't work 100% if you aren't plugged into a network. Did you disconnect your ethernet card?

Also try searching the error on the Microsoft Knowledge Base (support.microsoft.com)

Also try running 'mmc' from the run window. Then goto file > add/remove snap-in. Then click "add" then find IIS and add it then click "OK" and see if it loads.

did you change your pc name? i did that once, changed it back and it worked again

Something may have gotten corrupted. Assuming you have already rebooted, I would try removing and then re-adding the IIS component.

Yeah that would probably be your best bet.

And also,

Are you 110.10% sure that you have all the IIS 5.0 pathces and virus protection? If anything, it would be that other then computer faults...
