Hey,
I've been trying to find a good text editor but no luck. I've tried tinymce, fckeditor and more but they always had problems with not knowing the font size or not enough fonts available or spaces, width or messy code.

I've been wondering whether everyone suffers from these problems or it's just me because I don't know how to use these editors?

Is there another text editor I might find good?

I appreciate any help and advice.

Thanks.

emacs or vi. I use both, more I use emacs. The best thing to both is that you can change every setting you want and write your own extension if you don't like what you have. The worst is that you must learn how to do that and is a little bit complicated when you start.

best regards

wait, do you just mean wysiwyg editors?

i've used both tinymce and fckeditor. lately i've been leaning more towards fckeditor for my ajax apps because it seems a little lighter. tinymce is prettier though. there are a bunch of others but i haven't found one anywhere near as robust as those 2.

as far as messy code.... i think all generated code is a train wreck :X

I use Notepad++, not very flashy app but certainly does its job.

Hey,
Thanks for your replies.

I think some of you didn't get what I was saying. I meant a web text editor.

I had a problem with tinymce and fckeditor because I couldn't change the width of it so I could plan how much text would enter in lets say 200 pixels.

I mean, instead of having something like this

I like Oranges And Tomatoes
I don't like peach, Avocados

I would have something like this:

I like Oranges And Tomatoes
I don't like peach and Avocados.

The lines don't straight up. That's why I need to be able to resize the text editor so it would fit to the place where the text will be presented.

Also, there's a problem with the text sizes and the fonts.
Is there any way to have more fonts and more sizes?
Is there a way to know after a while when you already forgot the font you've used what font you've used on the text editor?

Thanks.
