i have got a new graphic card yesterday and tested it out... it was 512 mb graphic memory(somewhy said 1024...).
The problem with it was that many games 3d models stretched partly or vertices were not placed properly(random triangles instead of legs)...
I decided to return it and got another card(my dad paid 40bucks more for it) ... the problems remained the same.

Some models randomly 'stretch', random pieces of land dissapears, and sometimes weird 'old-tv effect' appears on the lost pieces of land...

It appears to happen to all games that use DirectX, I believe i am using DirectX 9.0 while my gfx card supports 10.1...

Is it problem with directX? my first graphic card(128mb) ran it perfectly... it's disappointing it doesn't work as expected :|

Thanks ahead of time

what brand is the new card? and is it pci, pci-e or agp? what kind of memory does it have? what OS, and what kind of monitor do you have? It might not be the card but the computer or driver issues.

Did you make sure to plug in the extra power plug for the card?

extra power plug?

either way both of them were Radeons

Have you unstalled previous driver(s) and reinstalled the new updated ones? (Do it even if it's the same version)

Also update DirectX and your OS (Windows Update) can help too.

If nothing changes reinstalling you game might solve it (backup your saves).

Worst case scenario: format PC and reinstall everything.

extra power plug?

either way both of them were Radeons

Unless it is a low end card, all AGP and PCIe video cards now days require additional power and there is usually either a 4-pin molex power connector on the card or a special PCIe power connector on the card. If you don't plug the extra power in, weird things can happen.

What model specifically is the new card?

I'm not sure, all of the ones i've tried had the same problems... even an identical radeon...

my dad returned all of them and i pretty much gave up on them. My computer works well with the one i have, but it's always handy if you wanna try a 'next-cool-game' or something...

so i got nothing to say :|

You could try switching to an Nvidia card, I have been using mine with no probs.

Update DirectX and the Graphic Card Drivers. Should work fine after that.
