Displaying GIF files

I was curious i recently downloaded a gif file that had more than one image icon in it. How is it that the images can be displayed singularly on a web page?

I've been wondering this too. Thanks for asking.

Can you attach the image you downloaded? It could be an animated gif or an image that is larger than what you saw. You may have seen only half of the image.
