ticker with external datasource

Hello All,

I want to have a ticker in every page of my site, but on every page the ticker will have the same text.
I know there are a lot of tickers on the net, but I don't want to change the text of all pages every time the ticker text must change.
So is there a ticker script that uses a external datasource to feed the ticker or what options do I have?

just save the script in a separate file (.js) then include it in every page like:

<script language="javascript" src="ticker.js"></script>

if you want to change the text, just edit the .js file
