My friend is currently working on building up a new site and we have games arcade, forums and blog type accounts within our site and they are all seperate as they are from different sources.

www.shutupandletmego.com

I was wondering, would it be possible through one registration say on the main site, that your account would automatically be set up for all the other parts of the site?

Edit-- Since i dont know much about coding i didnt know if this was a server or client thing so i just put it here, feel free to move it

That is correct.

Using PHP and MySQL, you have a database that stores the information for
all users (including username and password). Once a person "logs in", a
PHP SESSION is started. This can be checked on any other page in your site,
to determine if the person has properly logged-in.

So the answer to your question is:
Server-Side scripting using PHP and MySQL

Hint, you can use Google to find free PHP membership scripts, and if you're really
new to PHP and dynamic web page design ... you can hire a freelance programmer
to get it all going for you.

True. You can get coders at www.rentacoder.com or www.gofreelance.com or www.phpcoderforhire.com and you can ask coders to bid for your project. there are some cheap and good coders that can help you get going.

good luck.

As these seem to be separate systems each utilizing their own user registration system, it would be possible, although most likely quite involved to do what you ask.
