View Full Version : my password for phpmyadmin ?

For the last six months I have been making minor mods directly to my live site so its been a while since I have used the XAMP server on my pc.

I just used phpmyadmin to create a new database and I have written a script to insert some new data.

But when I run it I get this errpr:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in D:\Web\accounts\a_build.php on line 9
Couldn't connect to server.

Now I can not find the password - is it in the php.ini file or somewhere else ?
phpmyadmin must have used my password to create the database.

Can anyone help me find my password ? :o

Are you able to access the phpmyadmin interface of the same?

Yes I can still use phpmyadmin.
(I wasn't quite sure what you asked)

In the script I put root as user but I don't know my password.

I could probably insert with phpmyadmin but I need to find out my password for other scrits as well of course.

The reason he asked if phpmyadmin worked, is because phpmyadmin is just a php script and your password can be found by looking in the phpmyadmin configuration file.

Check in the security folder in your xampp directory. Your mysql info should be there.

Thanks, I found my password in the config.inc.php file.
And now my scripts work.
