View Full Version : Securing MP3s in Flash music player

I'm making a flash music player for use on a band site. I'm planning to use actionscript with an XML file containing the links to the songs, then making my own graphics. It's pretty simple as I haven't done a lot of work with Flash, mostly PHP.
I'm just wondering if there's a way to make my MP3s reasonably secure, so that people can listen to them through the flash player but not download them, because we're going to be selling the MP3s on the site. I imagine there are numerous security holes in my current approach, so any advice would be very welcome.

The only way to do this is to set a prefix in your mp3 player that gets appended to all of the urls to the mp3 files this way the player knows where the mp3s are but no one else does.
