Google's Chrome leaves beta early

Called "done" but "a work in progress". I won't have time to try it today but Chrome came out of beta a month early and is now version 1.0. Possibly missing a lot of features we want it to have but those features will be added on as the weeks and months go by.

It seems to me the main motivation for taking Chrome out of beta so quickly is just to increase adaption by Google, particularly by PC OEMs Google is purportedly making deals with to include the browser as part of the software they ship with by default. Why is it most Google software/services stay in beta for years while Chrome emerges out of it so quickly? At this point it seems more like a gimmick to me.
