looking for a site that suggests good hosts.

I have looked around here and see a lot of people posting questions asking this question, what i am looking for is not just a good host for reselling reseller accounts, but to find a site that is 'real' and allows the hosts to promote their own site. about a year ago i looked around and kept finding sites that once you checked out the site the promoted were mostly owned by the same people that hosted the promoting site! or most were located in the same area. i want to find a site that allows hosters from anywhere in the world to promote their services.

this is more likely to be a real site and not one that is promoting the same company! with different sites !

any suggestions ?

i found the webhost i use on google. only things i can suggest is to have good meta tags for search engines, and post about your webhost on forums in their respective sections.

I think your mis-understanding his post.
He's asking for a link to a site which compares hosts. Ultimately giving the best ones.

oh I thought he was asking how to get his host known :)

I still think http://freehostia.com is the best for the money. Ive been with them a while and im very happy with them.

ive tried looking on those sites that compare different webhosts, but i never find any i like or would use. ended up googling and found freehostia

WHReviews (http://whreviews.com/) is a pretty good, unbiased site openly comparing web hosts.

WebHostingTalk (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/) is one of the biggest forums discussing web hosting, so I'd definitely search for reviews of hosts you're considering there.
