I'm using Pay Pal, and would like to change over to some service that would allow my customers to pay by credit card (& debit card) without me having to sign up for a merchant account.

I know they will take 4 or 5% of the transaction, and at this point I don't care because I don't have that many sales that will go on credit cards. I just don't want the merchant account part.

I heard Ibill was soeone who could do this.
Are there others that anybody would recommend?

I would recommend PaySystems (http://paysystems.com) based on things I've heard. The next in line would be 2checkout.com

DO NOT USE 2CHECKOUT!!!

I had a VERY bad experience with them recently!!!

They do not tell you everything before you sign up, so beware!

...I'm not joking!

Care to share your experience krycek, if simply in general terms? I had reseverations recommending 2checkout.com, though it seems there aren't a lot of alternatives, and depending on who you ask, 2checkout is good and not good at the same time.

I emailed Pay Systems, and they actually answered the same day!

I think I'll talk to them first.
At least they're responsive.

I heard 2checkout.com was horrible, too. Use only if desperate. I also just ran across www.clickbank.com which looked good...especially with their Better Biz Bureau sign...but dunno. :D

Gettin' a 404 on that paysystems.com...not a good sign.

I can't use ClickBank because my product can't be downloaded over the internet.

I sell Cashless Atm machines

I would recommend WorldPay because they are reliable, and offer a lot of features.

Anyway, my experiences with 2Checkout were basically as follows:

I asked loads of questions about the service etc. and got satisfying answers. I then signed up. Whereupon I learnt that I had been told a load or porkies about most of it, because you can only find out once you sign up. I quoted 30-day money-back within 2 days of joining, as was told to get lost. two weeks later I had to ask my credit card company to cancel the charge because 2Checkout were refusing to reply, or do anything. I am just glad that the contradictions between what I was told and what was actually the case were so apparent and that I did not actually use the facilities i.e. take payments - it would have created a lot of trouble.

Netbanx is over in England where they're kinda sore at us Mericans for plans to kick Iraq's butt.

I'd hate to get in the middle of a squable and have them keep my funds, no matter how small my funds may be. I need my money.

Wow! So not all people in England hate us for kickin' Saddam's butt? I've been seeing a bunch of demonstrations in the news over there.

They're even saying Tony Blair may lose his job for supporting Bush on this. Everybody wants BUSH! (or, at least some kind of bush, as long as it's hairy):D

I looked at the other suggestions in case the service i was using was inferior, but gladly found it this isnt so. I use ccnow.com who charges a flat % on each item and does all the work and sales NO TAXes...

Any order that is placed with CCNow carries no U.S. sales tax because the company is located in Delaware where there is no sales tax... ("i like to stop, at the duty free shop")

They are good service wise and very secure and simple to set up. Ive even got a client or two using them because its just so simple for them to use.

www.ccnow.com (http://www.ccnow.com)

good luck.
John
