I am fairly new to web design(so be gentle :p )
The first is my personal site http://members.lycos.co.uk/xunzi
It's not complete but I would like to hear thoughts on colour scheme, layout etc.
The second is one I'm creating for a friend. His current one is at http://www.pakmaster.co.uk
My version is http://members.lycos.co.uk/xunzi/pak/YApak.html
Again, it's not complete(only the domestic link works for now) but could use some constructive criticism
TIA :)

xunzi,
your personal site is looking quite nice, although - for now? - a little empty. A few comments:
The logo text has some white fringes which look bad against the shadows in the background; see if you can get rid of those;
The center content box is fairly small compared to the browser window; not very efficient use of browser real estate!
I'm a great fan of fluid layouts, and yours doesn't adapt to a smaller brower window very well; the button bar on top goes all haywire and the content box stubbornly refuses to move.
Apart from that, your coding looks quite clean and efficient; nice job!
For the Pakmaster site:
nice layout, a good improvement over the former version (although that wasn't too bad either, maybe a little plain), but for the content area on some of the pages the same as above applies, there's quite a bit of difference in the content area layout between different pages (which might look a bit untidy), and to me the header is a bit overwhelming; I'd scale it down some to regain some valuable real estate.
But, again, for a second site: great job!

Looks fine, the main table with all the info seems to be sitting there all alone with tonnes of white space around it.... looks lonely.
