I was wondering this as well, since an exact clone is illegal, but a product that mimics the site can be ok if it is custom developed. I don't think this is a request to copy the site, which is why I let it be. There is nothing wrong with challenging another system, but clones don't really do that well (at least look at the multitude of facebook and myspace clones). Why not try to work on a new business concept or model that fits your business rather than just copy the exact concept from another?

However, if you want a clone of a site that takes designs in Photoshop and makes websites out of them, and you have your own design, why do you need to hire someone to do the service which your website will also try to offer?

Well, I need the functionality only as I wanna adopt this as a side business. I was not looking for exact look & feel but just the functionality.

Can somebody quote me the price & timeline required?

Since you're asking for a clone, I'm curious what you'd like to the administration portion of the site. Since I don't have access to the admin section (and I'm sure very few people do), I wouldn't know what to quote.

However, if you're looking for a quote on something more general like...

1) Design
2) Ability for users to contact you
3) Ability for users to upload psd files and send them to you
4) Ability for you to upload zip files of completed projects
5) Ability for you to manage / view / pm projects
etc...

Then I think you'll get a better response and a more accurate quote.
