Hello,

I was looking for a "slide out window" similar to what google maps uses.

http://maps.google.com

it has the little arrows to hide control panel (where the icons and whatnot show up on the side). thinking about this (http://blog.paranoidferret.com/?p=4)

I know it is a javascript function, but am unfamiliar in this area. More specifically, how does the map claim the space of the control panel when the panel is minimized?

Just a little confused.
Thanks.

Try jQuery (http://jquery.com). You can make use of the slideToggle() (http://docs.jquery.com/Effects/slideToggle#speedcallback) method.

Thanks,

I had checked that out, I would like to have horizontal sliding, probably an easy fix.

What I am unsure about, is will the screen automatically claim that unused space? Like a resize?

If you don't set any width constraints on the space it should resize to the space available.
