Okay, I've had my own issues with sending emails to large number of recipients. Basically, I've broken my address book into groups with 50-100 people, and send out one email per group...sometimes over several hours/days.

I'm NOT sending spam! Those of you who know me know better. I have several web sites that have 'members' (non-profit groups, etc).

Anyway, one of my clients needs to send out a newsletter via email to his 2000 or so clients. These are his actual business customers. He's using ACT 6.0 for his client database. He has a DSL "business" account with SBCglobal.net (Texas). They limit him to 100 recipients per DAY! So, I'm trying to figure out a workaround and/or solution.

A tech friend recommended acquiring the services and/or software of an "SMTP Server". But, searching for such services via Google produces a ton of less than reputable looking providers. They're marketed towards spammers, bulk-mailers, etc. Granted, I want similar/same services, but I can't trust this list of clients to just anyone. I need a REPUTABLE service provider for mass emailing.

ANY HELP!? ANY AT ALL!?

Well, for an SMTP server, if you need one, or are trying to find one, Windows has an SMTP server under it's IIS catagory

Thanks for the reply, but I couldn't find anything on ISS on my PC.

This is for one of my clients...and I won't get to 'play' on his PC until the day this needs to be done.

I did find a bunch of software via download.com ... but don't know which are reputable...which work the way I need them too...etc.

Anyone?

First off it's IIS, and Second, it's a microsoft product for a windows NT bases computing system.

So if you can't run Windows NT (in it's many forms) then I suggest you just look up SMTP servers in google.

Don't be supprized if you have to pay for a good working one that is safe and secure.

Any good?

You mentioned you had "several websites". See if your host allows you to send emails via SMTP and I dunno if you can with ACT but pull the clients right out of the database.. If so, you could write a webpage to send the emails out. And allow the client to use it. Obviously you'd want to password protect it in some method or another.

Thanks. I had to make a decision a week or so ago...due to time constraints. I ended up choosing G-Lock Software's EasyMail. Their web site is www.glocksoft.com. I've been quite pleased with the program.
