these are the key features i would like i was quoted @ 3000 i wanna now if that is a fair price or are they asking to much...

-full custom profiles
-login and join
-add friends
-rewards for most active users(points system)
-featured blog/forum conversation
-user videos
-blogs
-forums
-online user classifeds store
-Live chat
-control panel
-advestising editing from control panel
-polls
-widget library

its sort of like my site i have right now but i would like to have more control which i cant trhough my site http://www.community4gamers.com because its on a plaform of onesite.com

I'm not offering a quote, but 3000 doesn't sound too far out for a professional development place. You can get it cheaper, but the question is always quality verses cost.

You have some pretty extensive features listed here, and getting them all to work together would be a big task. I would imagine most places in the USA would put a quote in that neighborhood, perhaps even higher.

Others might disagree, but I often think that people expect to pay nothing for web design, and I think that is false when it comes to quality work. So what you expect out of your developer should be more important than the cost, but if the cost is more important remember that it sometimes even costs you more to go with a cheaper place who does things wrong and requires another place to fix it.

Price sounds fair to me, thats a lot of work that will probably take weeks to months even for a very skilled programmer.
