Just have a try with

.glossymenu li {/*cssverticalmenu.c... (line 9)*/
/*left:240px;*/
position:relative;
/*top:185px;*/
}
.glossymenu li ul {/*cssverticalmenu.c... (line 17)*/
display:none;
left:-8px;
opacity:1;
position:absolute;
top:0px;
width:183px;
}

btw, I'd recommend you to read "Why tables for layout is stupid: (http://www.hotdesign.com/seybold/)" and "What is Markup Validation? (http://validator.w3.org/docs/help.html#validation_basics)"

PS: welcome to CF!

You are my new hero....

As for your suggestion about not using tables to format... I inherited this site and concur with that assessment ! I am relatively new to some of this programming... I am an old programmer from dbase basic and other stone tablet days. I am enjoying getting into php mysql and hope I can find the same help you have provided for that project. I am developing a site for a nonprofit called the Christian Resource center and am determined to get away from Mi#$^&*cro*(#@ft. I cant even type it much less form the words. It goes slow becasue I have to research every concept !! the structure is nothing it is just developing the input pages in html/php and linking to mysql. Any suggestions where i might get some help on that?

You could use some open-source CMSs like wordpress, which will simplify your work.
