managed applications

hi, i'm new. does anybody know what managed applications are?

I think you might be talking about programs written using a managed language. Here is a wikipedia article on managed code: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Managed_code

Basically they are environments where a lot of the low level work is taken off your hands such as memory management.
