in a website i have made a lill menu
when i go there all is fine, works as a charm.
Now some others, that seem to have iexplorer 5.5 as well (so do i) go to this page
and it gives some errors (weird, lol)
so first thing i do is check out these error lines (it gave multiple)
some are just a basic command in java script
some lines are blank
some lines have a number higher even than the amount of lines (including the white lines) that i have.
I counted the lines by hand, by using dreamweaver and exel.
all counts result in 119 lines (for this page's code)
he gets errors in line 126 and line 127

I think IEs error alerts aren't acurate. You should just treat them as a rough guess This gives me an error on line 8 in IE6.

, and I get lots of erors when I write scripts, (yes I am messy when I script) and I never get inacurate error messages
Interesting... I never get accurate error messages. :)
ill just take it lying down that there are some weird messages
but all in all they see what i want em to see, so even with them bloody messages there is no real prob (but i dislike it)
Is there a way to prevent them to see the mesages?

window.onerror=void(0); should work.

I have Windows 98 and IE 5.0. If you want to see if this is a reproducable bug, I'm interested. I've always had a problem with IE 6.0 in XP where it says line 0 col 0 has an error, even after you refresh the page. You have to close IE and then reopen the page for it to give you the proper line and error description. It displays errors of problems you had already fixed. You can't tell if the error is gone until reopening IE with the page. And many more problems where that came from. I'm sticking to 98.

its wierd, even if you have the same os and browser there are still differences per individual computer!!.
like mine xp, ie 6 works fine with a script i made, yet it failed on another system with the same.

Very true. I have seen some Windows 2000 and XP computers that are uncapable anything other than BMP and JPG files in MS-Paint. While my Win98 opens BMP, GIF, PCX, and JPG all fine.
