Hi,

I am looking for some advice, or assistance, on being able to have some sort of similar background styling to this site: http://tinyurl.com/4uoanu

I currently have a plain green background with a black image above it, please see: http://www.crmpicco.co.uk/index2.php

Is it possible, to have an image that sits just on the left hand side maybe, with a sort of floral theme? Is this difficult to do?

Thanks.

yes. in your css make this the background for you body tag

body {
background: #000 url(/images/image.gif) no-repeat;
}

Change the url of the image to suit. Now if your image fades to a blck background, the #000 will let it blend perfectly. just make the default bg color the same as the colour to which your images fades. In the case of the site you referred to it's that purplish colour.

thanks for that reply the CSS I am fine with, it's more the actual image. does anyone know where I can get one from free stock possibly? transparent would be great, meaning I could sit it over the green background I have just now.

They have a ton of free brushes for Photoshop. Some real nice floral ones. Probably best to just make your own in this case. You'll be happier and all warm and fuzzy on the inside too ;)

Yes, you can use brushes, but if you're less artistic like me, you can use ready made vectors.

Lot's of results.

If you're willing to pay a small price for some high quality floral vectors then I suggest this site:

thanks for the replies guys, the floral vectors sounds (i'm not a designer I wouldn't know) like what i'm after here. I'm really wanting to be able to do this myself, to a certain extent :-) i've seen some the the tuts on Google and they look WAY above me.....

there seem to be mainly guys that want to charge for the use of the graphic. excuse my ignorance, but would the graphics come in PSD format ready for photoshop editing? With the graphic being vector would it be transparent?

I'm really looking for a floral design for the bottom left hand corner of this site I am in the process of creating: http://www.crmpicco.co.uk/index2.php

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers
