hello to all, :)

can any one tell me how to fill an array wit h all the files in a subdirectory and even recurse directories pls, dont know how to do IO in js, is it the same as java where you need to open a fileInputStream and bufferReader ?

all i want to do is fill the array then i have a script that uses the array for a slideshow calling each image after n secs.

ATM i fill the array manually in the code :(

this added feature is so end user can upload images whenever they want to update the slideshow

kind regards,

cant get a dir listing with javascript, you'll need a serverside language

JavaScript has nothing to do with Java, is nothing like it, and is not capable of I/O.

But as has been said if you use a server side language you can still get the file names into js for use with your slide show.

So all might not be lost.
