testing to see if SELF is a popup? can it be done

is there a reliable and effective way to determine if the page which is detecting is a popup from a parent.

the reason being is, in some instances a page will be a normal page, and others a popup from another site...they are both the same pages...but things change on it depending if its in a popup or not..

basically, a 'certain' referrer is detected..but since the process is multiple pages long,,I need to test also on whether there is a 'parent or opener' OR to see if the popup can detect to see if ITSELF is a child or popup.

is there?

You could try:


if (window.opener) popup=true;
else popup=false;


I haven't tested it, but logically it shoud work...
