In the medium to long run, you are better off not using tables to position things on your web page. They may be a quick fix, but down the road they will cause more problems than they solve.

To learn how to design a web page, you can go to one of the free tutorials like at http://w3schools.invisionzone.com/.

They have 132 errors on their web site so it might not be the best one to look at.

It doesn't have very complicated layout elements so I don't see why simpler css wouldn't do. Except if you don't know css and do know tables (as my son is in that position - and as a college "man" he doesn't think his ancient, stupid, borderline moron father knows anything but that is another story <g>).

OTOH, I've never used a template so I don't know where they can even be found other than a google search. So maybe he has a point.

We will be happy to help with the css. You start with a div that is 900 wide and whatever the height was. Then add as needed, remembering that not everything needs a div placeholder.

It's doubtful you'll find anyone on here who will recommend a table-based layout template, being, as they are, obsolete. That's like asking for VCR recommendations in the DVD era.

Here is a good page of HTML + CSS based layout templates (http://blog.html.it/layoutgala/).

.......... I think i still wanna use tables though ..........

I am one more dissuader, sorry. If you are committed (or concerned about) making your pages accessible to People with Disabilities, then Tables have to be constructed very carefully so that those (especially) using older Screen readers do not get navigationally lost. Remember, Tables in HTML were designed to present data -- not for page layout.
