Sierra Bravo is your opportunity to take web development to the next level. With more than 40 of the best web/interactive developers in the Midwest, we boast a highly collaborative atmosphere with a focus on learning. We are looking for highly skilled developers who will strive in a fast-paced environment with a heavy emphasis on quality.

We build custom software. Our large staff of extremely talented developers cranks out thousands of lines of code a week. Some of the most recent work we have done includes some pretty awesome variety that is listed below. If you are a sponger ready to learn, here are some of the things you might work on or have exposure to:

Social media integration: Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, Blogger, Facebook, etc.
Online mapping applications with Google and Yahoo! Maps.
Rich Internet applications with Flash/Flex.
Web-based extranet/intranet applications.
Custom social networks.
Content management application integration.
iPhone applications.
Windows Mobile applications
Yahoo! widgets.
Web services
We work hard and we play hard. When we are not cranking out code, we are playing Xbox, foosball, flying RC helicopters, launching model rockets, or just talking about the latest gadget or web trend. We have a weekly board game night and have a couple tech talks every month. Each Friday, the entire company gets together to enjoy a cold beverage while one of the development teams demo their latest masterpiece.
Thirsty, hungry, or just need a caffeine boost? We’ve got you covered. Sierra Bravo stocks the break room with a large variety of sodas, bottled water, tea, coffee, etc. We also have a breakfast bar featuring a cereal, bagels, toast, fruit, and waffles. Other snacks include pretzels, ramen noodles, popcorn, etc.
Sierra Bravo joined America’s fastest-growing private companies on the Inc. 5000 by creating a culture for ambitious web developers to fast track their careers by building world-class websites, powered by nerds. Join us.
Please email your resume and examples if you have them. We would like our developers to all work onsite, so we are not considering any telecommuters, agencies, or contractors at this time.
Requirements:

Photoshop
Illustrator
(X)HTML (you should be comfortable coding a website without the aid of a WYSIWG editor, and if you have "FrontPage" anywhere on your resume you can skip to the next ad now)
Semantic Markup (You should have nightmares about <b>,<u>, and <i> tags)
CSS (We never met a <table> we didn't want to get rid of)
JavaScript
Flash (Not required, but some animation skills in your back pocket wouldn't hurt)

Is this only for people to work on site or also freelancing? As my programming skills are not as strong as my development/design skills, but I am strengthening my skills in those areas.

Also, I'm currently not located in the area, but expect to be in the area in a year. Will jobs still be available?

Thanks,
Jeremy

On site only.

What kind of programming do you do? Sierra Bravo is also hiring for .NET/PHP/JavaScript/Flash/ActionScript/Flex (I posted other threads for these).

I only do programming here but there are people here who are dedicated to doing design work. I wouldn't be concerned about not having a strong programming skillset.

Sierra Bravo is literally always hiring new people and has grown 107% within the last year. So, yes, it is extremely likely Sierra Bravo will be hiring in a year.

I just asked one of the people here about relocation expenses. He said that some support can probably be provided.

I do some PHP, Actionscript/Flex, and have learned some fundamentals of Flex. But my passion is more in the design.

Ironically, I'm out of the country right now. I'm on an internship of sorts in Germany. If like takes me to MN (which my wife has worked at Mayo Clinic before and may return) I will check in with you again. Thank you.

Jeremy
