I have IE 6.0. If I go to tools > internet options > advanced and scroll down I see the following in my internet options > advanced popup window. I think this is interfering with some other java applet program in a website. Because I am not being able load certain java applets. But my friend is able to go and see those websites. And he doesnt have this thing. How can I remove it? Even I uncheck and restart the machine, it is checked back again.

JAVA (sun)
[checkbox] Use Java 2v1.31_07 for <applet> (requires restart)

That is an option added by some software you have installed and is not a standard part of IE. Look at what other software you have, especially things that "enhance" the browser.

If I uninstall the IE completely and then re install it will solve this problem?

Maybe, but since the add-in isn't part of IE it may or may not work. You need to research the other software you have installed to see which item added this and whether you can remove it using their installed/remove process.
