What is the easiest database to use with AJAX? I am new to AJAX. However I am familiar with PHP and mysql. I am writing a payroll site for my small business and have hit a snag that neither myself nor anyone that has tried, fix can. The issue: I need to be able to store employee data, ex Name, SSN, DOB, Salary etc. What would be the best method of storing the data utilizing AJAX. Is there a way to create/modify text docs or maybe a ms access file stored on the server?

You already use mySQL, so why are you not using that? Plus if you are storing that information on employees, you better make sure that it is VERY VERY VERY secure.
