I have a scanner model (CanoScan FB620P). I have been using it for at least 2-3 years. Usually I go to Photoshop (photoshop 7) and then File > Import > CanoScanFB620P and when I click on that the scanning window will open. But suddenly I started getting the follwing messages when I try to scan

First message is: "Cannot open communication port. Another application may be using port. Scanner driver will be closed"

Second message is "Could not open TWAIN source. Make sure there is a valid source for your scanner in the TWAIN directory found in the windows directory".

I checked the port and all the outlets and every thing looks fine. How can I sovle this issue? My office PC support is no use. That is why I am posting here. But I didnt understand the second message which talks about TWAIN.

Can you access the scanner through its supplied software or through any other software. It could be Photoshop acting up.

Try control panel => scanners & cameras you should be able to test scan or something n there. Otherwise re-install it.

Thank you very much. Now the scanner is working. I uninstalled my photoshop and then re installed. Also I found the software which came with the scanner and installed it. It did some thing to the TWAIN and now it works! Thanks so much again
