website troubles

I'm running into some website troubles, and I'm hoping some of the other webmasters out there can help me.

Recently, I've become lazy with my site. I'm losing the motivation to make new content for my site and update. While I am still interest in web design, I've become more interested in other things too such as php programming, messing around with linux. Plus, I'm working on another site. The problem is that my website is fairly popular. It does get about 1000 unique hits each day, and the community is active. My site also does bring in a fair amount of money via Google ads. I don't want to kill my site, but I also don't want to feel as running it is my job. It should be a fun, enjoyable experience to make content, but I'm losing it.

I do wish to keep my URL private. I hope you all respect that. Any advice?

Find one or more people to help with the website. Depending on the format of the website you can do different things to get people to help you out. That way you can absolve yourself from some of the day to day stuff.

I'll try that. It may be hard though since most of my staff has none to very little knowledge of HTML. A CMS may be the only way to settle things. I could attempt to program one, but those usually take a good amount of time to do. Some of my staff does regularly update with general news, so it's not like the site is totally dead. It's just the content I'm going to need help with.

With a busy community I am sure there are a couple of geeks that would help out! Make a posting asking for help and I am sure someone will reply, even if you could get help with content, then you just need to find someone who doesn't know anything about the content of your site, but knows how to add stuff to your site.

There is a "jobs" section in this forum where you could post the pay and the amount of time estimated (no, I'm not looking for any work thank you).

Have you considered updating your page weekly instead of daily? I do that and have PHP change the page daily so it will always be fresh. My old site only got 500 visitors a day so it was small potatoes and the new one is just starting so I'm at the bottom of the heap with 30 visitors a day (but building).

Using PHP conditional statements I put different jokes and photochopped work on daily and have the rest of the week off for other stuff.
