I'm going to buy a new PC and I have 3 options to choose:

ATI RADEON VE 64MB SDR OEM Tv-Out
NVIDIA GEFORCE4 MX440 64Mb TV-Out (+21 €)
ATI RADEON 9000 128M DDR TV-Out (+54 €)

As I rarely play 3D games (and well, games in general) and mainly use the computer for Web & 2D design (things that I already do with a 2Mb video card), the question is: if you're not a gamer, does actually makes any difference using a cheap video card or an expensive one?

Get: ATI RADEON 9000 128M DDR TV-Out of those three. The GeForce4 MX isn't actually a GeForce 4 it's a Geforce 2.5 originally designed as a budget GeForce3.

With GeForce cards the 2D is dependant on how much effort the card producer has put into it. I've found even with top GeForce cards I've had to physically modify the high pass filter to attain good picture quality. I'd get the ATI ^^^ as it's the best of the 3, probably has best picture quality and is DX9 (I think) so will be better for future gaming. THe 128mb won't matter much today but in a few months games will utilise that.
