View Full Version : xml -> html -> pdf

I'm stuck here.. need some help.

My client wants a website that dynamically displays in either html or pdf. my thought was to use xml for the page content, then have that translated on the fly to html or pdf.

the problem is, i can't figure out how to create the pdf on the fly. I had been told to use xsl-fo and then an apache utility to convert the xml to pdf, but I need some more info to make this work.

The site will be hosted on a shared hosting server, so my options for installing software packages will be limited.

My other thought was to use the pdf lib php module.. the problem here is that not many hosts offer this feature, and my client is unwilling to pay the license fee..

Does anybody know of a better way to accomplish this? (please include specific instructions / urls).. or alternatively, a good hosting company that offers pdf lib use?

thanks in advance!
