Hello borntoslow,
Thank you for your reply. In fact, neither do I have a clear idea on that as I have just copied the text from its label. I have installed the modem on win2k and shows it is a conexant 56k. It lacks the xp driver from its installation disk and winxp can't recognized the win2k driver.
I have tried to find its driver through the net by searching conexant but what I can find is the pci version only but not the external one. I also found a lot of other modem drivers e.g. HCF, Ambient ..... etc but don't know if they fit and thus the reason for my thread. Many thanks for all.
Kind regards

Sounds like your modem uses a Conexant chipset so this page might be of some help: http://www.conexant.com/support/md_driverassistance.html Since you can find the original drivers these might work for you.
Lots of modems under different brands are basically the same modem, they all use the same chipset that one company builds. It is like video cards where nvidia makes the chip and a bunch of other companies sell video cards using it.

Another site you may want to try is DriverGuide.com.
