Hi,

I'm trying to do some very soft shading in photoshop.

See this URL: http://dojocampus.org/explorer/#Dojo

I want to have a similar effect to the very subtle shading behind the words
"Dojo Base" "Dojit" and DojoX"

I can do gradients etc, but I don't know how they've got that effect.

That Isn't Photoshop...
It's not even an image...

The "effect" doesn't work for me, so I presume it's a CSS effect. If it doesn't work for some it's inaccessible...

They have just slapped a CSS shadow effect onto the style.

You could recreate it with photoshop. Right click on the layer and go to blending options, then enable the shadows, and set them to the intensity you want.

Do you mean on the yellow tabs that pop up when you mouseover? That's just a very subtle gradient, select two colours that are very close to each other when making a gradient.

Oh, so your not talking about the text?

Nah, I was talking about the background, see how it's very slightly shaded grey?
I did what you said and used two very similar colours and did a gradient.. I chose a reflected gradient and worked really well. Thanks!
