I'm working on a site for my church, I've posted the site with a free hosting service so that they can see my work as I progress.

They wanted to have rotating images in the header so I created this. There are three images at about 100KB each.

This page takes a LONG time to load. Is it because I'm using a free hosting service? Or are these images too large?

I think its the hosting service, I just want to be sure.

Check out the site here:

Thanks for any replies!!!!!

Currently your site seems to be under review.

at the risk of jumping to a wrong conclusion; your link took me to a site that had nothing to do with your question. I don't expect a church to try to sell me webspace.

Bazz did you even read what the site told you?

Site is no longer under review (and no more adds for web space! :)

Kind of funny, I've had the site up for about a week, and right after I posted here it was put under review.

Anyway, same question, is this page taking too long to load because I'm using a free hosting service, or because images are too large????

Thanks again,
- Bill

Try converting your larger header gif to a jpeg. With photoshop I got it down to 28kb.

Before it took about 30 seconds on a cable modem.

It took around 15 seconds for me.

You should add a footer to the bottom of the page too.
