I used to use VNC but I hated it after I found out that the person who installed it had a access to my PC and they ended up installing virus on my computer and deleted whole bunch of system files. Needless to say, I had to format the computer and go through a lot of pain. I did some research online and found VNC is not really the best option. I am looking for something reliable, and more importantly very safe. Also, if it's free, then it's even better.
Thank you for all your help in advance!!

I've enjoyed https://secure.logmein.com/welcome/get_logmein_free/signup.asp

Only draw back is its java based but it works fine.

You can try remote administrator. However It isn't free.

VNC is as secure as all the other software etc described above. At the end of the day you will be suseptable to attacks. They all work on the same principle, opening ports to allow for remote access. If someone wants to get access to your computer and is aware of what remote access software you are using (or even just scans your ports) you can be hit.

I dont reccomend you using anything unless you know what you are doing and know how to protect your computer.

Another vote for logmein here. I use it to manage about 12 computers that I've built/repaired for friends and family. Secure login, and individual passwords for each computer, and the price(free) is unbeatable! They do have paid versions that have some extra features, but the free version has been more than enough for me. A few people I work with also use GoToMyPC and love it. I haven't tried it though.
