hi,

Is there any application available for download which converts my normal cd rom drive in to a
cd recordable one(cd writer format)
i want to copy from system hard disk in to a cd.
or is there any other way to this.
'cause i have seen one application somwhere in web, but i
couldn't able to remember the link i have browsed.
Please don't advise me to buy a cd writer seperately.

regards
suriya

There is no way to convert the laser in the CD-ROM into a laser that can preform the writing functions, especially with software. You need to buy a CD-RW to burn files, you can find a 48X16X48 for around $30 to $40 after MIR a lot of the time...

You can get a cd-burner cheap anywhere today, seriously they were even selling a p4 laptop in my local supermarket for a week.

My cd drive cost me $20 us (approx) and it is a 48write 72read 16re-write. I've had it for almost 1 ¼ years now with no problems.
