Ok so like many others, I want on my website small thumbnail images which when you mouseover them, they appear larger on the right hand side of the page.

As I am a complete noob, and have only just got the hang of dreamweaver, it would be much appreciated if someone could help me make this Java, and then explain how I implement it into my page design.

My images will be called image1.jpg, image2.jpg etc. and I dont know how many images I will have and of course I will be adding more as I go along.

If some nice person out there could possibly write the basic code nd highlight or underline certain areas so I know what to change myself it woudl be much appreciated!

This is the JavaScript forum. Java and Javascript are entirely different programming languages, in spite of the confusingly similar names.

This forum is intended to help people who have specific JavaScript problems. It is not a free coding service.

Have you tried Google? That would have revealed:-

Here is something to move you forward:-

<script type = "text/javascript">
function showlargeimage(imgshow) {
document.getElementById('image').src = imgshow;
<img src="thumbnail1.jpg" onmouseover=showlargeimage('image1.jpg')><br>
<img src="thumbnail2.jpg" onmouseover=showlargeimage('image2.jpg')><br>
<img src="thumbnail3.jpg" onmouseover=showlargeimage('image3.jpg')><br>
<img src="thumbnail4.jpg" onmouseover=showlargeimage('image4.jpg')><br>
<!--image screen-->
<img src='#' id='image'>

All advice is supplied packaged by intellectual weight, and not by volume. Contents may settle slightly in transit.

This is a very basic example (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/thumbnail2.htm)
This is a very advanced script, but without mouseover (http://www.e2interactive.com/e2_photo_gallery/)
This script also does it on click but displays it similar to the first example (http://benjaminsterling.com/jqgalviewiii-proof-of-concept/)
This is a very good script (http://imago.codeboje.de/)
This is what you want but displayed in a more unique way (http://qrayg.com/experiment/hig/)
