View Full Version : How to stop Thunderbird from opening compose window on doubleclicking message?

Hi!

After a power outage I had to partially reconstruct my Email-Settings.
So I guess this is the reason for the following problem:
When doubleclicking on a message in one specific Inbox-folder now Thunderbird 2.xx opens the message in the compose window and sets in the "to:"-Adress my own Email-Adress.
Maybe before the changes when reconstructing my settings some days ago I once some years ago changed something in prefs.js, so that on doubleclick just the normal message window is opened to read.

This new behaviour makes me totally CRAZY and MAD!!!

Please help me if you know how to.

That doesn't happen on any other folder of that email-account, and on no other folder of the other Emails-accounts.

Hi! I got the solution somewhere.

It was because the drafts were being directed in the inbox. After pointing the drafts to the drafts-folder in the "Copies & Folders" account's setting instead, everything was O.K. again. =)

That all was caused by the reconstructing of the Email-settings I had to do.

Great

Many thanks for letting us know what caused the problem.

That's what this forum is all about. Sharing our knowledge.

Yeah, thx for sharing the solution..

I love TB, but it has been giving me some problems lately.. I just hope they can fix them in their next release.
