View Full Version : Typed url deleted when ie7 closes
Hello,
I have 10 public computers running windows xp pro that are accessed by the public. The computers are running group policy with adm addon for ie7.
Is there way to delete ie7 typed urls in the address bar when Ie7 closes automatically without involvement from the public?

make sure that you dont have internet explorer running then click on Start > Run.
Run Registry edit and go to....
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Typed URLs
In Regedit delete all of the registry keys. (urlx, x = 1, 2, 3 etc etc)
Thanks Borntoslow. This would not work in my situation. Access to c-drive or d-drive is hidden under policy. So having public access to the registry or the run command is not an option. Typed url would have to be automatically removed.

Is there an option in your group policy to clear the history when IE is closed? Or at least set how long the history is kept for? The typed URLs would be covered under that.
