Drop Down Menu using php

This is sorta of an loaded question, but is it possibly to create drop down menu similar to the below link, but using php instead of javascript?

I currently have a basic menu that simply links to various .php pages. But on a a couple of those links, I'd like to be able to provide direct links to a users specific data, instead of having to go to their individual page, and then have to chose which action to take.

Well, Trying to answer my own questions, I came across this script here. I think/hope I may be able to modify it so that the it query's a DB and creates the appropriate arrays and links.
