Bitstream Vera Sans Font Linux Help!

I am trying to install a game engine. Everything went to plan apart from when I try to run it, it comes up with an error. I did research and it turns out I need a new font. The font is Bitstream Vera Sans. I need all the fonts related to this. I have tried to import the windows font files through the control manager, which is supposed to work, but it didn't... I have tried installing them through Wine, that didn't work.

Does anyone know how to install that font on Linux?

I thought I had it, I right clicked on them and clicked install, I installed them, however on my PyGame module, it comes up with errors. It must be due to my coding rather than the actual fonts.
