Well I'd like to suggest a new feature for CF, a Solved button. While I'm thumbing through different threads I often find myself opening a problem thread that turns out to be solved already.
On a few other forums I've been to in the past they've had a SOLVED button which, once clicked, would edit the thread title to include [SOLVED] and would also change the thread's post icon to a green check mark or something of the like.
While obviously not all members will utilize this I think many members will (similar to the thank system) and it will be less strenuous to those looking to help solve problems.

We've talked about it before: http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=92678
The problem with editing the thread title, is that after a day or two (I can't remember the exact time limit) you aren't able to edit your posts and thus wouldn't be able to do that. The reason we limit the time on editing posts is that before people would go back through and empty all their posts in a thread once the issue was resolved and basically ruin it for anyone reading it later.

Well an addon wouldn't interfere with the 'post editing rules.' The vB addon would simply edit the title in the DB for that thread, append '[SOLVED] ' to the front of it, and call it a day.
You could even make a 'solved switch' by using very simple PHP. All the user would do is press the button, the forum could carry out the rest automatically.
Here's something I've found so far in my searches. It looks like it is specifically for Admins/Mods but its got the right idea. http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=172633

I was wondering myself why we didn't have one. I have two views on this: the first is that it is pretty easy to implement; the user does not necessarily require the permissions to edit the thread title in order to add a solved to it as the system can handle it. A simple boolean for if its been solved and if so to display the [Solved] in front of the name. This would be handy for knowing what threads have solutions so I know not to bother checking them.
The other half is the usage. For us long term members it seems logical to have a solved button for the threads to help sort out the mess. But to newer and short term posters most wouldn't bother to select it or wouldn't even know of its presence.
I guess its just a balance out between the overall usage and the work required to implement it. If its easy to do, than sure. If you think it would take a bit, don't bother.
