Paragraph formatting disappears on export

I have a Flash movie with a static text field with different colored text, and a few links. When I test or export the movie, all of my paragraph formatting disappears. The problem only occurs (so far) when I add a link. Is this a bug? What do I do?

I'm using Flash CS3 on the mac platform, but it happens when I use either Actionscript 2 or Actionscript 3 compatibility.

How are you loading the text, or is it static inside of the box? Is the box set to render as HTML?
