HighImpact E-Mail... HTML E-mail problems.

I am trying to solve a problem for a friend of mine who publishes a newsletter weekly. They generate the code in dreamweaver (ew) but it is clean code for the most part but when they put it through their program "high impact e-mail" in order to distribute it via e-mail sometimes the links get all messed up and the program interprets the html incorrectly.

I am curious, is that all high impact does? It just automates the process of creating an html e-mail? If so why do people use it at all? Or is it because e-mail clients display html much differently than browsers and so specialized interpretations of the html code are required to fix the way it displays?


Keep in mind there is NO CSS in these e-mails. They are done the old and ugly way of tabular layouts.

Yep.

CSS rendering in mail clients, like, oh, say, Outlook is so terrible that tables and inline styles are actually considered better for design consistency. You still have all that overhead, though. Thanks a bunch, I work for a charity organization and our newsletter is borked. I will review the site you mentioned. I think I am going to try to side-step HighImpact if I can as it is garbling the code something awful.
