Hi there
I would like to create an animation similar to below in the link... Where there is a series of 4 images with a scroll left / scroll right option where people can scroll through more images... as they press the button... the images slide away and new ones come in...

Have you seen a tutorial like this or perhaps could you help me set this up?

Lynda.com has several actionscript 3 tutorials. I took the concepts I learned from the lessons on making a gallery and making scrolling text. It took awhile, though. I did it for two reasons: 1) I really wanted to know how to do it myself, and 2) I didn't want to shell out any money, even though slideshowpro was only $29. For what it's worth, I have an earlier thread entitled "adding xml url to a button" that might help you.
