Are there any specific references anyone suggests for learning C# and ASP.NET from the beginning? Either quick and dirty or the nitty-gritty are fine.

I learned the basics from the book, Build Your Own ASP.NET 2.0 Web Site Using C# & VB (http://www.sitepoint.com/books/aspnet2/). While not necessarily the source I'd use to learn ASP.NET from scratch, MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx) is nonetheless an excellent reference.

I trust any publications by SAMS, APress, or Wrox. I REALLY liked ASP.Net Unleashed by SAMS.

Good luck with your learning!

SAMS and Wrox and are good.

I just got (its a beast of a hardback - note to self buy paperback in future :) )

ASP.net 3.5 Unleashed, I have been coding for quite ahile have never really read any book from start to finish, this book has pointed out some tricks that I had never heard of, purely for the time I will save its worth the £40 odd quid.

It starts fro the beginning and works you up as you go through.

goodluck - hang around in forums and communtiy sites as well.

http://asp.net is a good place to start too

cheers,

How do you like the Unleashed book. I still have my 1.1 book - one of the best books I purchased.
