Hi,

Just wondering if Borland C++ Compiler version 5.5 (http://dn.codegear.com/article/20633) works for C language also?

If not, can u plz refer me with a similar free C compiler?

Thanx

any c++ compiler is also a c compiler that means that borland is also a c compiler.
maybe I'm wrong but borland compiler is not free, you can't use it to build and sale your application using the free version.
Anyway because my information about it is pretty old you must check yourself if is true or not.

gcc is free. work on linux and windows, compiler and cross-compiler for many language including c and c++.

ok I downloaded Bloodsheed Dev C++

I am trying to run this code

#include <stdio.h>

int main()
{
printf("\n");
printf("Hello World");
printf("\n");
}

It compiles ok, and a DOS screen comes for a few milliseconds and disappears.

Why is this hapenning? And How/Where do I see the output?

Sorry, I am new to C.

because the program finish his execution, :)
I have many years from my last working contact with windows, so I don't know what's changed, but I remember that have a DOS prompt, try to use it, or reboot and use windows in dos mode.

Add a getc() of getchar() function at the end, so that your program would wait for a keyboard hit.

or reboot and use windows in dos mode.

Lol, that feature died a long time ago with the 9x line.
