Ok, so I am about to release a web site. and the whole thing is done in flash, because the whole site is animated. Now, I also have a html version, but b/c I am selling media (Design/Graphics/Photo/Video) Rich animation for the master site is somewhat key....i hope lol. Anyways, my problem is I want to know methods to allow the search engines to index my site....I would like to know also if anyone has any ideas how I can track users in flash....ideally, implement into my google analytics account.
I was thinking of putting all the content into the actual html page that spits up the .swf, and just putting it all into a div thats hidden with css, is that a good idea? well thanks for your help in advance!

Putting your real content into the HTML is always a good idea. No matter how cool your Flash is, search engines cannot index it! So SEO requires that capability, and being able to put your real content into the HTML will increase your visibility online.

Make sure to do the necessary things like meta tags, making a second version without Flash, basically anything that would make other pages work better with SEO.

Well, Google can now crawl your .swf files, so it will be able to read the text content inside your flash, I wouldn't really trust it tho. Google can and most likely WILL index your website, because your flash in embedded inside HTML code.

Your questions should have been: "How can I rank high in Google for a flash website?"

And the answer is:

-Choose the right title for your website, containing the right keywords.
-Correctly use the description meta tag.
-Acquire quality related back links using the proper anchor texts. <-- Most Important
-Embed your flash using swfobject and add alternate content inside the "content" div.

That is a misconception.. Google CAN index your page, even if it's a flash website. what it can hardly do is crawl your .swf files.
