Hi everyone,
I just thought that UK WordPress users would be interested to know that the UK's first WordCamp (http://uk.wordcamp.org/) is on the Saturday 19th to Sunday 20th of July 2008.
This is the first UK conference for users of WordPress - the leading web-based publishing platform on the internet, also recently voted best content management system by .Net magazine.
Attendees will include a unique mix of content creators, creatives and developers from around the UK. The event will feature presentations from a number of seasoned WordPress developers and bloggers, combined with lively debate. Many people from the UK WordPress community are committing their time and resources at no cost to make this an unforgettable event.
There is loads of information on the main organisation wiki (http://wiki.wordcampuk.tonyscott.org.uk/), including running orders for presentations over the two days, and traveling/hotel details.
It's being held at The Studio in Birmingham City Centre (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&dq=The+Studio,+loc:+Birmingham&daddr=7+Cannon+Street,+Birmingham,+B2+5EP&geocode=6774119300171886292,52.479777,-1.898109&ll=52.479777,-1.898109&iwstate1=dir:to&iwloc=A&f=d) - a modern, stylish conference centre with full wi-fi access and high-quality presentation facilities.
Tickets are on sale at eventbrite (http://wordcampuk2008.eventbrite.com/) at £35 (or £70 micro-sponsor) - secure your place and hope to see you there!
